Leadership

If you look closely at Nissans on the road today, you’ll get a window into the excitement of what’s next. The future of electric vehicle performance? It starts with the best-selling, all electric Nissan LEAF, which is a blueprint for our Le Mans racer, the ZEOD RC (Zero Emission On Demand Racing Car). And to get an idea of what everyday driving might become, consider today’s advanced predictive technologies as the gateway to cars that truly share the task of driving with you – letting you focus on what you love about being behind the wheel.
ELECTRIFYING YOUR WORLD
ELECTRIC VEHICLES (EV)

With over a billion Kilometres traveled by Nissan LEAF owners, people are discovering that driving electric is more than a greener way to get around, it’s a whole new way to look at the world. At the heart of our commitment to electric vehicles (EVs) is making them affordable and available to the mass market. That includes offering commercial EVs that are already changing the way people do business, and working with the private and government sectors to promote a robust infrastructure for public charging – doing everything we can to spread the joy of electric driving.
LEAF owners know how easy it is to go electric. Plug it in overnight like your mobile, and wake up fully charged, ready to go. And with instant torque and agile handling built right in, LEAF is always a kick to drive. Of course, knowing that every drive makes the world a nicer place to be is just one more thing to smile about.

STAYING IN CHARGE
Public charging is key to making everyday electric driving a reality. That’s why we’re working with the government and private sectors to continually expand the network of public charging stations, including quick charge stations that let you charge almost fully in about 20 minutes.

BATTERY TECHNOLOGY
Nissan’s revolutionary lithium-ion battery is compact, safe, powerful and durable, giving us the confidence to offer a very generous warranty. As further evidence of our EV commitment, the battery is manufactured in our own plants in Japan, the UK and US.
Of course an electric commercial vehicle can radically cut your costs – there’s no petrol to buy and far less maintenance. There are some surprises, too. The e-NV200 is so quiet and clean, for example, you can make nighttime residential deliveries and gain access to protected and indoor areas. Best of all, the most environmentally friendly mass-produced van on the market sends a great message to your customers – you’re smart, efficient, and looking forward to a bright future.
TOGETHER WE RIDE
DRIVER AUTONOMY
One way to make your drive more enjoyable is by giving you a greater feeling of confidence. And by 2020, you’ll find Nissan vehicles that can share many of your daily driving responsibilities. You can already drive Nissans with technologies like adaptive cruise control, active lane control and parking assist. Now we’re working with NASA and some of the world’s top universities to take these ideas to the next level. Current prototypes can merge and pass, as well as monitor around a vehicle for risks. Think of it as built-in peace of mind.

NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 VISION GRAN TURISMO
From virtual to reality and back again. Answering a call from the makers of Gran Turismo 6, Nissan’s young designers created a dream car to celebrate the game’s 15th anniversary. The virtual supercar made its debut as a physical concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last summer. But the first lucky ones to actually “drive” it? GT6 gamers, of course. So will a production version actually drive up the Goodwood hill in 2020? That remains to be seen...
